Slipping into November and Scorpio Season
October and Libra season is all about balance, change, harvest and relationship. The astrological sign of Libra signifies harmony in our lives and relationships. We also work with other Goddess archetypes in this guidebook, like Nyx (Greek Mythology) to channel the shadow, resting in the dark, intuitive powers, and inner growth; Hecate (Greek Mythology) to channel discernment, confronting problems, integrating the shadow self, and wisdom; and The Cailleach (Celtic Mythology) to channel deep change, the benefits of aging, ultimate authority, and adventuring the winter months. During November, we start to dip into the darker part of the year. This month brings slowness, reflection, and solitude into our lives. Although it can appear daunting, it is actually a very powerful time. Our shadow selves start to become more apparent, and many repressed emotions from the past year start to bubble to the surface. That anxiety or sadness we feel may not only be from the transitional period, but also because the world is finally quiet enough for us to hear it. If you use this time to venture into those emotions and your shadow self, you will find deep renewal going into the new year. But at the very least, this is a time to start slowing down, and letting ourselves rest so we can heal our mind, body, and soul from the busy year we have almost completed.
In this workbook, we will use the Scorpio archetype to help put us on the track of our dream lives and career, and how she can help us dive deeper into our emotions, power, and shadow self. We will also use the other goddess archetypes of this season, pulling from Greek and Celtic mythology. We will see which ones resonate with us and which ones have lessons for us during this season. They will teach us what we need to focus and work on during this season to manifest our goals, and find our abundance.
Included in this workbook, if you want to go deeper, are astrological dates to look out for, journal prompts, herbal and nutritional guidance that follows the season, activities and health tips for November, and affirmations that you can use.
This workbook merges the whimsy and ambition within all women. No longer do we have to only be corporate climbing, business-owning boss babes, or innocent and naive, field-frolicking girls. We can use our feminine power of intuition, magic, self-exploration, and wonder to achieve our ambitious and lofty goals in a way that feels natural, authentic, and true to ourselves. This workbook helps ambitious women who grew up in a hustle culture to use their connection to self and the earth to achieve a life that is not only purposeful in their career, but in all aspects to their being.
Intention Work
If you only want a small taste of this workbook, do only this activity with intention work as it is very powerful in helping you achieve what you want in your life
Intentional Tip 1: Let go of old patterns from the year behind
Scorpio season and November is very much about internal work and letting go. Unlike the analytical season of Virgo, Scorpio season has a deeper emotional tone to it. Scorpio lets go, but there is more depth and emotion to the letting go. Unlike surface level clutter, Scorpio will take us to the depths of our being and release something that is very deep within us. Something that may have been very difficult to remove in other seasons. That is why the tone of the season can be a bit turbulent for some of us. We can feel the release of part of our identity from the year prior, but it can cause discomfort if we are not grounded in our lives during this season. We can also use the very powerful energy of The Cailleach from Gaelic mythology that helps us let go of outdated life structures we are holding on to.
Task: Spend 1 hour journaling or using tarot cards to reflect on what patterns you are ready to shed from the year behind.
Intentional Tip 2: Do shadow work
Scorpio season is all about what is below the surface, and that includes our subconscious mind. As the days begin to get darker and shorter, and the air becomes cooler, this is a great season to turn inward. The darkness of this time of year can make us more reflective and introspective. The social buzz of Libra season may also start to die down a bit, as we will feel more inclined to cuddle up inside instead of going for a night out. The Greek Goddess Hecate that we can also work with this month is all about the integration of the shadow self. We can channel her energy to integrate our own shadows of our psyche. She helps us understand them instead of fear them. The Greek Goddess Nyx is also powerful in channeling our shadow work. She represents the shadow itself; the deeply feminine, quiet, introspective and regenerative nature it holds. The darkness also reflects our subconscious mind. It may look empty, but there is a deep richness in that darkness. This is a great time to do shadow work. We can make our space inside a cozy fortress against the cold outside, and dive into our shadows for better self-understanding.
Task: If possible, try to do at least 2 deep shadow work sessions this season. Create a very comforting and calming environment, by lighting candles, closing the curtains, putting some nice scents like palo santo, sage, or incense in the air, and wrap yourself in your favorite blanket. Close your eyes for 15 minutes and imagine yourself dropping into the depths of your subconscious mind (you can envision yourself on a downward elevator or walking down stairs), once you get there, open a door to your shadow self. Do not overly control this, the power of imagination is amazing for your self-understanding. Let the images and your subconscious mind show you what is there. If you have questions, just ask. If you struggle with expressing certain emotions, ask where this comes from. Imagine yourself journeying through this landscape and stay curious. Once you feel the experience is complete, imagine yourself coming back to your waking consciousness (either walking up the stairs or elevators you descended on). Reflect on the experience by journaling or drawing.
Intentional Tip 3: Build one strong boundary
Scorpio season is also all about reclaiming our power. Although Scorpio may sometimes be associated with the negative connotations of power, the spiritual journey of this zodiac archetype is achieving an unshakeable power in the self, that holds strong boundaries of protection, but does not shut out love and the connection of others. This season is all about reclaiming our power in a way that protects us, but does not control others. That is where strong boundaries come in. We can channel Hecate in her independence and sovereignty. She cannot be easily controlled by others, and operates with self-reliance and strength. We can also channel the Cailleach that drops the social masks and only holds on to honesty. Her energy can remind us that even if others judge us as they do with the harsh coldness of the winter season and the hag that she represents, living our truth will be more important on our journey. Like the boundaries of your house that keep you warm in the winter, the boundaries you build for yourself will keep you safe, while letting go of the actions of others.
Task: Do not overwhelm yourself by building a bunch of strong boundaries at the same time. You only need to work on one at a time. Start with the one you are most comfortable with and feel you can stick to. This will help you build confidence in yourself and build boundaries on things that you feel less secure about. Decide one very strong boundary you will stick to this entire month and see how it changes your life. It can be very small, but very important, like no texting for 30 minutes after your wake up, or no social commitments on a Tuesday evening so you can rest, or no stressful conversations during a meal. You can also choose a bigger boundary if you feel ready and confident in being able to stick to it, like telling a demanding boss you will not do any work on weekends or after 6pm, telling yourself that you will not accept clients that speak rudely to you, or telling a slightly co-dependent partner that you need one day of complete uninterrupted, alone time. Pick whatever comes to mind, and stick to it for the entire month.
Intentional Tip 4: Sit quietly with your emotions
Scorpio season and November is all about depth and reflection, especially in the emotional context. This is an amazing season to sit with whatever emotions have been repressed over the last year. The darkness helps us turn to the subconscious as it represents the unseen. We can channel the energy of Nyx that represents the beauty of our shadow, use the energy of The Cailleach to feel safe in the power of strong emotion, and finally channel Hecate’s wisdom to integrate the strong emotions that we have processed so we can let go and move on to a new season of our lives.
Task: Spend 1-3 evenings or mornings (whichever provides the most grounding energy for you), make sure your space feels deeply safe and cozy, take a couple of deep breaths or maybe do some gentle yoga, and go into a meditation asking for whatever emotions are ready to be felt to surface. Do not overly control or analyze where they are coming from. Some strong emotions may come up that are not associated with a memory. Allow your body to process and purge the emotions, as this will allow for renewal and clarity in your life. If you need grounding during the session, you can hold onto something tangible like a crystal, burn a strong scent like incense, sage, or palo santo, wrap a heavy blanket around you, or sit with someone if that is grounding for you. Once you feel you have released the emotion, drink a warm tea or water to help fully eliminate the energy and toxins of the repressed emotions.
Intentional Tip 5: Do something that inspires your inner power and strength
Scorpio is the sign of power, but it is important that we don’t interpret it as unhealthy power and control, as Scorpio is prone to falling into. We want to awaken our own inner power that is innate in all of us. That will look different for every single person, so it is important to go inward for that and not take in too much external information about what power is. Your power might be a very quiet, soft type of power, which may be stepping away the minute a situation becomes overwhelming or toxic to you. It can be stepping away when something becomes draining. Or your power may be the more conventional type of power. You are amazing at persuasion and speaking in a way that inspires people and leads to change. You need to find this for yourself and not let others tell you what your power is. Find what aligns within and makes you feel your power in yourself.
Task: Spend one 30-60 minute session journaling on what makes you feel powerful. Don’t overthink it and let go of any judgement in the moment. Let the judgement come after, but this is a time to just let yourself be completely honest. Focus on what makes you personally feel powerful. Is it speaking out on injustices? Is it stepping away the minute a situation feels wrong, toxic, or unfair? Is it leading people in a way that feels inspiring? Is it setting hard boundaries so you have time for deep healing, reflection, or growth? Is it writing words of deep inspiration and passion for others? It doesn’t matter if it sounds arrogant like leading people, or too reserved like making choices in your own life that feel you are making an impact on bigger systems. You need to find what is true for you and block out the noise of what others tell you is power.
Intentional Tip 6: Focus on making your nights quiet and cozy
This season asks us to turn more inward and start resting our body more. Fighting it will only create more fatigue in our bodies. It doesn’t mean we have to completely shut off the world and social connections as those are very important in carrying us through the season. But we can plan for more restful and cozy nights in. We can channel the energy of Nyx, which represents a deep comfort in resting and rejuvenating our bodies. Nyx finds deep peace in the darkness for she knows it is when true healing comes for mind, body, and spirit. We can use this season to make our homes deeply cozy and peaceful. Establish nurturing and cozy nightly routines. And really just fall into the slowness that this season rewards us with for the hard work we have done all year long.
Task: Pick 3 things that make your home deeply cozy to you. This may be lighting candles, using warm lights, drinking a warm tea in the evening, baking, putting out cozy blankets, playing soft music. Make your home a safe fortress. And add one very cozy activity to your nightly routine for this month. Take 20-30 minutes doing something most nights before bed that signals to your body that you are safe. This may be reading a book, watching a cozy, doing some drawing or painting, stretching, doing a meditation. Do this right before the rest of your night routine and see how it slows down your evening and provides safety in your body.

Archetypes We Can Work With in November:
Visualize: Where is one area of your life you want to grow or expand in?
Here are the archetypes that represent November:
Scorpio (Astrology): She is all about depth, emotional intensity, personal power, and intuition. She is deeply private and reflective, as she represents the shadow and what is not yet seen. Scorpio represents the darkening of the season and our pull to go inward and reflect on the deepest and most private parts of our life and psyche.
When To Call In: If you need stronger boundaries, a deeper connection to your intuition, or a deeper understanding of yourself, you can call in as either an archetype or a Goddess being to guide you.
If You Resonate Most With Her: If you already feel the Scorpio archetype is within you, and want to balance her more, then you need to realize the walls that kept you safe, are also keeping others out. You are very private and secretive. You also believe deeply in your independence and figuring out a situation without the interference of others. Your fear of hurt or persuasion of others, can lead you to completely block out the aid of others. You need to realize that your privacy can be protected, but learning to healthily lean on the right people will help you feel safe, supported, and protected.
Hecate (Greek Mythology): She is all about integrating the shadow in a way that brings power and self-understanding instead of fear and shame; helping to understand that the darkness is part of the healing and growing journey. She is also deeply intuitive and mystical, but has a talent for connecting it to logic and reason, which can provide immense clarity when external logic fails. Hecate represents the idea that all power and truth is within, and that the deeper we know ourselves, the more we understand that we already have all the answers we need.
When To Call In: If you are struggling to integrate shadow aspects of yourself, rely too much on external logic for your questions, or need more confidence in your inner truth, you can call in as either an archetype or as a Goddess being to guide you.
If You Resonate Most With Her: If you already feel the Hecate archetype is within you, and want to balance her more, then you may need to have more patience with others in their journey. You are deeply wise and connected to your truths, and you understand very well how to integrate the shadow, but sometimes your talents make you impatient with others who do not have the same talents. You may need to understand that some people may have a longer journey to get to your level of enlightenment and wisdom. You can provide them aid and advice, but try not to rush or shame people if they take a little longer to understand these esoteric topics.
Nyx (Greek Mythology): She represents the shadow itself. She is all about the essential darkness that needs to take place before creation, as well as mystery, secrets, privacy, intuition. Nyx is the darkness itself, which many believe to be a space of nothingness, but she shows it may be the most powerful space there is.
When To Call In: If you are needing to feel more comfortable with the darkness, rest, and mystery, you can call in as either an archetype or as a Goddess being to guide you.
If You Resonate Most With Her: If you feel the Nyx archetype is very strongly within you and want to balance her more, you may need to bring more light and social connection into your life. You are very familiar and comfortable with the darkness. You understand the importance of resting in the darkness. But sometimes your comfort in the darkness makes you forget about the comfort of the light. You like spaces of quiet and darkness, but you need to balance that with connection and activity. Nyx archetypes can be prone to a low level depression as they are so comfortable in darkness and truths that are difficult for the broader public to face. But the light is essential in that balance. Even if the darkness is comfortable and safe, laughter, connection, and joy are also needed to be fully whole.
The Cailleach (Celtic Mythology): She represents the powers of destruction and renewal. She represents the ultimate authority energy, think of a queen, but not in the elegant sense. She is the energy of the hag, aging, and winter, but is the ultimate power in true transformation.
When To Call In: If you are needing a complete restructuring of your life, acceptance of your own aging, or authority in a very large life decision, you can call in as either an archetype or as a Goddess being to guide you.
If You Resonate Most With Her: If you feel The Cailleach archetype is very strongly within you and want to balance her more, then you may feel at times your powerful energy can sway into too much destruction. You have an incredible ability to completely transform situations by knocking them to the ground and rebuilding them from the start. But as these powers are so innate in you, sometimes you may knock something down before it is ready to go. Sometimes you may need to step back a little and give some situations more time before they are torn down. Also no matter your age, you come off as a wise old grandma. But it is also ok to connect with your child or young girl side to give you a lighter more optimistic view of life at times.
Exercises To Work With Goddess Archetypes:
Visualizations:
Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths in and out. Very clearly picture the Goddess you are calling in. If you want to imagine yourself as her, picture yourself as clearly as you can in the form of that Goddess. If you want her to guide you, picture her as clearly as you can as a separate being. Take time for her full form to appear. If you are picturing yourself as that Goddess, how do you act as that archetype? How do you feel? If you are picturing her as a separate being, what does she want to tell you? What piece of guidance can she offer you? Once you feel you have completed the visualization, you can open your eyes, and reflect on the experience. Think about what you can take from it. How can you channel that archetype in your everyday life to achieve your dreams? How can you use the Goddess’ guidance to feel safe and protected in getting what you desire?
You can use this exercise as often as you would like, and it may be very different each time. It shows you that everything you seek is within you, and what starts as a vision can be made manifest into the physical.
Journal:
Spend about 15 minutes journaling on the Goddess you are calling in or asking for guidance. Or if you want to balance an archetype, journal how you would like to find balance within you. Don’t overly control your writing. Let whatever flow onto the page as you reflect on the Goddess. The more open you are, the more the answers will appear in your writing. After you finish, read what you wrote and see if anything new clicks for you.
Ritual:
To go even deeper with the Goddess energy, you can do a ritual to bring her to life or to balance her. Rituals are very powerful because they are not mind only exercises. They include full sensory experiences to work with intention setting in the entire body and nervous system which will implant even deeper than mind-based exercises. Embodying the colors, aromas, and tastes of the Goddess helps to feel that energy flowing through you that you wish to channel. Go as full out as you want, by either putting on one accessory that represents her, or dress in an outfit that embodies her to you. You can do this either in a sacred place indoors or outside. Use a scent that represents your Goddess. Earthy, cleansing, or florals for Virgo; Dirt, grass, or grain for Demeter; blooming florals, pomegranate, and earthy for Persephone; Olive, earthy, or clean herbal scents for Athena; Deep earth, fresh wood, or grains for Tailtiu. Take a moment to breathe the scent in deeply. If you like to work with stones or objects in ritual work you can do so. You can also purchase a stone, bracelet, necklace, etc. that represents the Goddess you want to embody to carry the reminder with you; Blue Sapphire for Virgo; Peridot and emerald for Demter; Garnet for Persephone; Lapis Lazuli for Athena; Green Aventurine or Tiger’s Eye for Tailtiu. You can hold the stone or object and close your eyes as you visualize the Goddess clearly. Feel yourself embodying her and her wisdom. To close your ritual work, you can brew a tea that represents your Goddess to cleanse your system, clear away the old, and call in your intentions; White tea, green tea, or chai for Virgo; Barley or earthy tea for Demeter; Pomegranate, rose, or jasmine for Persephone; Olive leaf, Rosemary, or Gotu Kola for Athena; Chamomile, calendula, or lemon balm for Tailtiu. You can also use any of these tools daily to channel the Goddess archetype. Or even walk through the day with her energy if it resonates with you.

Healthy Lifestyle Habits For November:
Healthy habits are all the talk nowadays, but we need different things during different months for our bodies and minds. By living with the seasons, we can get a lot more out of these healthy habits. November is a month where we start to go inward, so a lot of our daily habits will start to reflect that.
Do journaling or art: This is an amazing month to do some quieter, more reflective activities. It is getting darker and colder outside, which may make us feel less inclined to go outside and be active. We don’t have to feel down about this fact, we can use it to our advantage. By having this calmer, more inward energy, we can do some soothing journaling or art that is so nourishing for our mind, body, and spirit.
Sunset walks outside: The mornings are colder in November, but by afternoon, the air can be a bit more forgiving on our senses. Sunset or late afternoon walks are amazing for our health, as they can help us get some sunlight during the day, help regulate our circadian rhythm, and gently exercise the body which helps our physical and mental health.
Moderate yoga exercises: We may feel less inclined to exercise outdoors, like going on jogs or bike rides, so medium level yoga routines can be a great way to exercise our bodies. They will warm us up, get our blood pumping, and help to calm the mind which may be slightly more agitated during this season of transition.
Matching your rhythm with the sun: Try starting your morning around when the sun rises (but let yourself sleep as long as needed), and more importantly, try to start winding down when the sun sets. Use warm, non-overhead lighting, limiting communication with others, and focusing on more calming activities or tasks in the evening to help your body settle down for the night. Try to step outside for 5 minutes when you wake up to signal to your body that the day has started.
Make a non-caffeinated tea in the evening: November is a great month to get into the routine of making and drinking a nightly herbal tea. Not only is it soothing to our nervous system, but if we have high quality teas and herbs, it is very beneficial for our overall health and immunity. As the season gets darker and colder, this can help our overall health and vitality, and it is especially important to get those extra nutrients in November as we descend further into the late fall and winter seasons.
Start your day with a nourishing breakfast: A hearty breakfast can help give you energy in the fall season. Our body needs more sustenance during this season as the days get colder and darker. Usually our appetite increases in the fall as temperatures drop. A nice hearty breakfast can help us start the day with energy and encourage healthy digestion. It also helps to soothe our mind and body because a nourishing breakfast will signal to us that we are safe. This is helpful in November especially for those that struggle with the changing seasons. Breakfasts like oatmeal, local eggs/tofu scrambles, or avocado toast are all good options.
Find comfort in expressing your emotions: November is all about emotional depth. A lot of subconscious thoughts and emotions may arise during this month as the external world starts to go quiet. It is important that we allow them to surface, but in a way that makes us feel deeply safe. Whether that be talking with a friend or family member, seeing a therapist, journaling, listening to music, doing art. This season gives us a time to process our subconscious feelings and rejuvenate our mind and body for the next year.
Making your home a safe fortress: We will probably be spending a lot more time at home in November, so it is important to make your home feel like your safe haven and spot for grounding. The transition can provide additional anxiety and stress, so it is important that your home feels like a space you can fully decompress in. Make it cozy, warm, and soothing to signal to your body that you are completely safe during this season.
Homemade Soups: This is a great month to make some homemade soups. Our body starts to crave warmth around this time. The warmth will help provide our bodies with feelings of safety and using soups is a great way to do this and is also nourishing as well. Soups can be a great way to build up our immunity and stock up on many vitamins and minerals in one meal. Experiment with the herbs and veggies recommended above that are in season. These will help your mood, health, and vitality during this season.
Romanticizing November (Enjoying the Middle of Fall While Working Hard on Your Career):
Some recommended activities to romanticize the season and balance life and work
Drink warm seasonal beverages: Drink or make warm seasonal beverages. Even though it is something small, it can help us romanticize and enjoy the season. This is an amazing season for hot apple cider, which you can buy or easily make at home. You can also buy pumpkin or cinnamon lattes, or for a more cost effective option, you can easily make these at home. Even adding a little bit of cinnamon and milk to your coffee can be enough to romanticize the season.
Take a fall hike: People always think summer is the season for hiking, but fall is an amazing time to go on a hike. The leaves are changing and the air is crisp. It is a magical time to go for a hike.
Decorate your house or apartment: To romanticize the season, you can decorate your space. Either fall or Thanksgiving decorations can be so much fun to put up around your house and it makes your space feel more festive. You can even do it cost effectively. All you need is a couple of pumpkins, some brown and dark red flowers, a candle or two, and an orange or brown throw blanket, and you’ve got the fall vibe going in your home!
Experiment with soup recipes: This is my favorite time to experiment with soup recipes! Experimenting with different soup recipes in the evening can be very soothing to your mind if you are experiencing seasonal anxiety, and also the warmth of the soup while cooking and eating, can help you feel completely safe, cozy, and nourished.
Wear cozy clothes: Wear clothes that feel comfortable, soft, and cozy. Not just sweat pants and sweatshirts. You can even invest in one really nice fall set that you feel luxurious in. Or pick out nice sweaters and scarves to wear. Dressing ourselves in nice clothes is not something of only vanity. It is telling ourselves how we value and take care of ourselves. Wearing something you love can raise your confidence and vibration when stepping into a new day.
Try baking: Baking is great for every season, but fall has got to be one of the best seasons for it. Homemade bread is extremely easy to make. It is only flour, water, salt, and yeast. You can also do seasonal baking, like pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, cinnamon maple rolls, apple crisps. Baking is such a nice way to celebrate the season. It is meditative, nourishing, and relaxing. Plus homemade goods are so much better for you than anything store-bought.
Light candles: In your home and/or workspace, try lighting some candles. Especially on cloudy days, or dark nights, it can provide a cozy and warm vibe. Try scents like pumpkin or apple to match the season. Although it can feel small, your environment makes a big difference on your mood. When you treat your home and work environment with care, you are also showing to yourself what you believe you deserve to be surrounded with. When you do those little things like lighting a scented or unscented candle, it shows yourself that you deserve those small beauties in life. It also romanticizes your home or workspace and makes it feel more magical.
Make your evenings as cozy as possible: Don’t feel pressured to be super active in the evenings. This season is all about winding down. You can make your evenings super cozy, by lighting candles, making a tea, having a really yummy and nourishing snack, and curling up on the couch with your blanket, and a book or a movie.
